Baseball Game Preview: El Rancho Dons vs. South East Jaguars

The El Rancho Dons will face off against the South East Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

El Rancho fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against California on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Condors by a score of 2-1.

El Rancho saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Padilla, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South East, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Huntington Park 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Frankie Leon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, South East let Jayden Cortez and Nathan Munoz run wild. Cortez went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Munoz went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Cortez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Perez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

El Rancho's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for South East, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
