Softball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 15-1 to the Archer Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-1 defeat back in September.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Archer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton will host Clarke Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gladiators have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Archer, they will square off against North Gwinnett at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
