Basketball Recap: Delta Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Keagyn Gillen and Abbey Todd

Delta and Paulding squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Delta had to settle for second. They lost to Paulding on the road by a 46-29 margin. The contest marked Delta's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Delta had strong showings from Abbey Todd, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, and Keagyn Gillen, who had eight points. Todd has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Tori Schlatter was a one-woman wrecking crew for Paulding as she put up 16 points along with eight steals and seven boards. Brooklyn Schlatter was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 19-3. As for Paulding, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paulding, they will challenge Ottawa-Glandorf at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ottawa-Glandorf will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something Paulding surely won't give up without a fight.
