Basketball Recap: Midway Comes Up Short

Midway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. Their2024 ended with a 54-40 loss against the Vernon Lions. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1282nd, while the Lions are ranked 427th).

Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Vernon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Aspermont the next time they take the court. Midway will head out to face Aspermont at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, while Vernon will head out to face them at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.
