Basketball Recap: Ocracoke Takes a Loss

Ocracoke lost against Bear Grass Charter back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ocracoke Dolphins took a blow against the Bear Grass Charter Bears, falling 64-22. The Dolphins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

Bear Grass Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubery Dotson, who went 8 for 10 on her way to 19 points. The game was Dotson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Callee Perry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Ocracoke and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Bear Grass Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Ocracoke will take on Hobgood Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bear Grass Charter, they will challenge Mattamuskeet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bear Grass Charter is facing Mattamuskeet at the right time seeing as Mattamuskeet is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
