Basketball Game Preview: Butte Bulldogs vs. Capital Bruins

The Butte Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Capital Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Capital took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Butte, who comes in off a win.

Butte lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Helena, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Everything went Butte's way against Helena on Tuesday as Butte made off with a 67-43 win. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Capital suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 64-28 loss at the hands of Big Sky. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Capital dropped their record down to 9-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Butte, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Butte was able to grind out a solid victory over Capital in their previous matchup on February 1st, winning 41-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Butte since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
