Football Recap: Bishop O'Connell Takes a Loss

Bishop O'Connell fell victim to Archbishop Carroll and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Lions and fell 43-0. The Knights lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 34-17 score last time.

Archbishop Carroll's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christopher Wallace, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. Those 86 rushing yards gave Wallace a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Glass, who threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.

Bishop O'Connell has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Archbishop Carroll, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Bishop O'Connell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 defeat against Paul VI on the 7th. As for Archbishop Carroll, they have also already played their next matchup, a 42-7 loss against St. Mary's Ryken on the 7th.
