Basketball Recap: Scott's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Scott hadn't done well against Colby recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Scott Beavers walked away with a 76-65 victory over the Colby Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Beavers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Scott's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Tarango, who went 8-for-9 on his way to 22 points and five assists. Those 22 points gave Tarango a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eloy Ruelas, who posted 16 points along with five assists and four steals.

Scott's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Colby, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Scott and Colby will both be playing Hugoton the next time they take the court. Scott will head out to face Hugoton on Thursday, while Colby will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
