Basketball Recap: Isaiah Manley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wheeler

A well-balanced attack led Hammond Bishop Noll over Wheeler in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors enjoyed a cozy 67-49 victory over the Wheeler Bearcats. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hammond Bishop Noll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Manley, who posted 21 points. The match was Manley's third in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Khalel Johnson, who put up 17 points.

Despite the loss, Wheeler had strong showings from Marek Barton, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points, and Caleb Mclaughlin, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Barton a new career-high in assists (four). Carter Blane was another key player, putting up three points.

Hammond Bishop Noll's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Wheeler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Hammond Bishop Noll wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-53 win against Whiting on the 5th. As for Wheeler, they have also already played their next game, a 71-49 defeat against Hobart on the 1st.
