Baseball Recap: Enterprise's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Enterprise had to endure a 12-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Trinity Wolves on Friday as the Enterprise Hornets made off with a 9-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hornets have posted since April 3, 2024.

Porter Fischer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit, allowed only an earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Nick McKellar was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Garrett Hixon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Enterprise back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Enterprise is taking a road trip to challenge Yreka at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity, they will welcome University Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
