Union City is 0-4 against Wes-Del since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Indians will welcome the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Union City took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Winchester Community 8-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kierra Thacker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Oaklee Reichard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Gabrielle Ordonez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Union City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winchester Community only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Wes-Del waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 16-1 victory. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.
Devyn Jaycox was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Presley Durr was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those hits marked the first that she has got this season. Another player making a difference was Tori Ward, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Wes-Del's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Union City, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Union City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Wes-Del struggles in that department as they've averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
