Volleyball Recap: Mary Walker Comes Up Short

Mary Walker lost against Liberty back in November of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chargers fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-1.

Mary Walker's offense was headlined by Kazlin Rainer and Kaylin Gines, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Addisyn Matherly-Stricker and her 14 assists. Finally, Rainer was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Mary Walker has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mary Walker will venture away from home to take on Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will head out to face off against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
