Volleyball Recap: Arcadia Starts off Right with Win over Monrovia

Arcadia had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Monrovia Wildcats. The Apaches haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Arcadia not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Monrovia between 17 and 19 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.

Arcadia's offense was headlined by Malia Takeoka and Clara Massey, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Angelina Zhou and her 21 assists. Jocelyn Bostrom controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

With the loss, Monrovia broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Arcadia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against San Dimas on the 22nd. As for Monrovia, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Maranatha at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
