Baseball Recap: River Road Comes Up Short

River Road managed to slip by Childress the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The River Road Wildcats lost 17-3 to the Childress Bobcats on Thursday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

River Road has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Childress now has a winning record of 7-6-1.

Coming up, River Road will challenge Dalhart at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. River Road has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Childress, they will face off against Hamlin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamlin will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Childress surely won't give up without a fight.
