Basketball Recap: Amiyah Nash Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rampart

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pine Creek, Fountain-Fort Carson was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Rampart Rams with a sharp 49-27 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Fountain-Fort Carson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amiyah Nash out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deja Lynch, who posted 11 points.

Fountain-Fort Carson was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Rampart saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Arabelle Madril scored ten points.

Fountain-Fort Carson's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Rampart, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Fountain-Fort Carson has already played their next contest, a 77-28 loss against Doherty on the 27th. As for Rampart, they will welcome Pine Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
