Basketball Recap: New Richmond Lions vs. Batavia Bulldogs
New Richmond lost against Batavia back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Richmond Lions fell just short of the Batavia Bulldogs by a score of 42-39. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 230th).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Sininger, who posted ten points. Sininger continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Grant Hess was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.
New Richmond has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Batavia, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
