Basketball Recap: Berry Takes a Loss

Berry fought the good fight in their overtime match against Ardrey Kell on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ardrey Kell Knights by a score of 64-62. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Brett Freeman was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 38 points for Ardrey Kell. Freeman's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Bryceton Thomas was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.

Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Ardrey Kell, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Berry will venture away from home to challenge Ballantyne Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berry is facing Ballantyne Ridge at the right time seeing as Ballantyne Ridge is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Ardrey Kell, they will host Myers Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Myers Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Ardrey Kell likes a good challenge.
