Nation's top stars put on a show Monday night at Illinois Tech.

Collin Sexton said the energy at the Powerade Jam Fest was "crazy," so he wanted to treat the crowd at the Illinois Institute of Technology to something special.

The 6-foot-3 guard from Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.) delivered by winning the slam dunk contest in the Powerade Jam Fest on Monday night as part of the festivities at the McDonald's All American Games.

Sexton, an Alabama signee, received a perfect score of 70 from seven judges — his second perfect score of the night — to beat out Troy Brown Jr. of Centennial (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Jaylen Hands of Foothills Christian (El Cajon, Calif.) in the finals.

Sexton's final dunk was a one-handed 360 windmill. The packed gym went nuts and the judges immediately put up 10s.

"The fans came out to see a show and we gave it to them," Sexton told a national television audience on ESPN.

So did Texas-bound Chasity Patterson, of North Shore (Houston), who won the girls three-point contest with 20 points after missing every ball on the first rack. She made nine of her last 10 shots.

"I just kept focusing on the next shot," Patterson said.

The boys winner was Trae Young of Norman North (Norman, Okla.), who actually scored one point less with 19. The 6-1 guard is headed to Oklahoma next fall.

The 40th annual McDonald's All American boys game is 6 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday and starts right after the 16th girls game, which is scheduled for 4 p.m.
