Recap: Walnut Grove Warriors vs. Cedar Grove Saints
The Walnut Grove Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Cedar Grove by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Cedar Grove to victory were Norval Rhodes and Emmanuel Green. Rhodes scored 15 points, while Green scored 15 points. Green hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Loyd, who scored eight points.
Walnut Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Cedar Grove, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Walnut Grove will head out on the road to square off against Cherokee Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Cities at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Cities knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Cedar Grove likes a good challenge.
