On Friday, Sevier County faced Morristown-Hamblen East in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sevier County Smoky Bears strolled past the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes with points to spare, taking the game 52-37. The win was nothing new for the Smoky Bears as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Morristown-Hamblen East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hudson Cloninger, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and four steals. That's the most steals Cloninger has posted since back in November of 2024. Ella Wampler was another key player, putting up seven points.

Sevier County pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they moved to 18-5 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sevier County will welcome Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they will host Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Morristown-Hamblen East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
