Basketball Preview: King's Christian vs. The Christian Academy
King's Christian and The Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully King's Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in their respective states (the are ranked 97th in New Jersey, while the are ranked 513th in Pennsylvania).
King's Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 50-37 to Bishop Eustace Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points King's Christian has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jason Brice, who scored ten points. Owen Atkins was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Valley Forge Military Academy with a 65-60 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
King's Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for The Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
King's Christian strolled past the in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 48-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for King's Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
