Baseball Game Preview: Southridge Skyhawks vs. Jesuit Crusaders

Southridge hasn't had much luck against Jesuit recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Skyhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m.

Southridge is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Mountainside. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Skyhawks have suffered since April 4th.

Meanwhile, Jesuit had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Beavers. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jesuit's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Southridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Southridge might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Jesuit in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Skyhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
