Softball Recap: Avon Park Comes Up Short

Avon Park suffered their biggest loss since March 6th on Monday. They came up short against the Fort Meade Miners, falling 18-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 back in March.

Kinley DeLoach made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Wells, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Avon Park and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Fort Meade, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Coming up, Avon Park will face off against LaBelle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Meade, they will square off against George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
