Basketball Recap: Angel Perez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Incarnate Word Academy over Annapolis Christian Academy

Incarnate Word Academy was the 49-42 winner over Annapolis Christian Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Angels took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Monday. The Angels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Angels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angel Perez, who went 7-for-17 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Perez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Talon Chanyaman was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Annapolis Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Riojas, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joaquin Ford, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Incarnate Word Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Incarnate Word Academy has already played their next matchup, a 48-40 win against Harmony School of Excellence on the 28th. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-41 victory against John Paul II on the 25th.
