Baseball Game Preview: Washougal Panthers vs. R.A. Long Lumberjacks

The Washougal Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the R.A. Long Lumberjacks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Washougal has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Washougal didn't have quite enough to beat Rochester and fell 6-5.

Owen MacDonald and Tyler Thompson stepped up to the plate in a big way. MacDonald scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Thompson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. MacDonald also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Nash Neumann was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, R.A. Long was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 4-1 to Tenino.

Washougal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for R.A. Long, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Washougal suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to R.A. Long when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
