Recap: Brighton Bengals vs. Charlestown Townies
Even though the Brighton Bengals have not done well against the Charlestown Townies recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Brighton walked away with a 32-22 victory over Charlestown. For Brighton, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 loss Charlestown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.
Jai? Reona Brown Carter was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 12 points. Adriyana Chandler was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Charlestown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will be home for the holidays to greet Kennedy Health Careers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlestown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Boston at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
