Monrovia had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the South Pasadena Tigers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Ronnie Carmona looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Monrovia got a big performance out of Isaias Hernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Hernandez a new career-high. Sully Zinn was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.

The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for South Pasadena, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
