Basketball Recap: Lake Station Edison Takes a Loss

Lake Station Edison lost against Westville back in February of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles fell 57-44 to the Westville Blackhawks.

Westville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brian Jackson led the charge by going 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points and four steals. The contest was Jackson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Massengill, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

Lake Station Edison has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Westville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

Lake Station Edison will face off against Calumet New Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calumet New Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. As for Westville, they will square off against Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Westville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
