Softball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the De La Salle Meteors. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 26, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Aly Lopez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.

As for De La Salle, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The result was nothing new for the Meteors, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

On De La Salle's side, Lilah Serrano made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Serrano has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, De La Salle got a big performance out of Analise Francois, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Trendle, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Trinity will face off against rival Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, De La Salle is set to challenge their familiar foe Aurora Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Meteors 4, the Chargers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
