Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbus). They blew past the Tremont Eagles 18-2 on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Columbus and bumps their season record up to 3-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tremont, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Columbus will take on Kemper Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tremont, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-0 loss against Tupelo Christian Prep on the 1st.
