Basketball Game Preview: Clayton Comets vs. Cleveland Rams

The Clayton Comets and the Cleveland Rams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Clayton came up short against Southeast Raleigh and fell 66-53. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Cleveland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 71-67 to Willow Spring. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Storm recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Clayton's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Cleveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Clayton strolled past Cleveland in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 74-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Cleveland's Jabari Green, who posted 22 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Clayton still be able to contain Green? There's only one way to find out.
