Preview: Natalia Mustangs vs. Lytle Pirates
Natalia is 0-10 against Lytle since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Natalia Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Lytle Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Natalia came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Hondo by a score of 58-48.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Lytle's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 95-87 to Crystal City. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (67), Lytle still had to take the loss.
Natalia's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Lytle, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7.
Natalia came up short against Lytle in their previous meeting back in January, falling 76-72. Can Natalia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
