Providence Day is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand North Raleigh Christian Academy a 45-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won ten games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Providence Day had a senior duo take command as Zaid Lott threw for 342 yards and four TDs while completing 80.6% of his passes and Brendan Ravin picked up 148 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 342 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Lott. Ethan Dempsey also helped out with an impressive 98 receiving yards.
Providence Day's run defense was locked in: North Raleigh Christian Academy could only muster 0.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Justin Abanquah stood above the rest. He picked up a sack, made seven total tackles, and defended one pass. Providence Day didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged nine.
Providence Day didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ravin.
Meanwhile, Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] didn't have too much trouble with Charlotte Latin on Friday as they won 40-21. The Cougars pushed the score to 33-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.
Providence Day better focus on containing Seth Henry and Isaiah Townsend as the pair were huge in Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy]'s win. Henry gained 151 total yards and a touchdown, while Townsend picked up 37 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Henry was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards.
Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy]'s defense made their presence known, laying out Troy Logan six times. The heavy lifting was done by Fedel Smith and Jackson Laws, who racked up all six sacks between them. Laws is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Brady Ravin was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Providence Day's record is now 11-0. As for Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy], their record now sits at 7-4.
