Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Comes Up Short

Mt. Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they moved to 19-10 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Mt. Carmel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-8 defeat against Vandebilt Catholic on the 5th. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they will venture away from home to challenge St. John at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 3.4, the Eagles 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
