Baseball Recap: Scripps Ranch Beats Christian for Their Third Straight Victory

Scripps Ranch entered their tilt with Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since May 17, 2024.

Cooper Sitton made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sitton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jesse Dawson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Scripps Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Scripps Ranch's record is now 5-10. As for Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scripps Ranch will welcome St. Augustine at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Christian, they will host Coronado at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.4, the Islanders 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
