Baseball Game Preview: King's Academy Lions vs. Forest Hill Falcons

The King's Academy Lions will take on the Forest Hill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (King's Academy has four straight victories, Forest Hill has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, King's Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Christian Academy, taking the game 4-1.

Daniel Cabrera looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nolan Payne was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Cabrera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

King's Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Christian Academy struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Forest Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday and fell 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by just one run.

Victor Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Nick Seal was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

King's Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Forest Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
