Basketball Game Preview: Peach County Trojans vs. Cairo Syrupmakers

The Peach County Trojans will face off against the Cairo Syrupmakers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Peach County came up short against Monroe and fell 54-45. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Golden Tornadoes: they've now lost four in a row.

Peach County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cam Cherry, who went 7 for 17 en route to 17 points and six boards, and Ronnie Covington, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. Kevan Gray was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Cairo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Westover, falling 62-39. The Syrupmakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Peach County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Peach County was able to grind out a solid win over Cairo in their previous matchup on Friday, winning 69-56. Will Peach County repeat their success, or does Cairo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
