Volleyball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy's Undefeated Season over After Ten Games

If Trinity Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Treasure Coast last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Atlantic Christian Sharks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sharks earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Trinity Christian Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Atlantic Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 17-25, 18-25, 17-15.

Trinity Christian Academy's offense was headlined by Carter Kuzmin and Paul Morency, who picked up 17 kills apiece. They got some help from Matt Shedd and his 32 assists. Finally, Morency was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Jonathan Gonzalez went supernova For Atlantic Christian., getting 12 digs and two aces. Gonzalez is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 23 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Trinity Christian Academy fell to 9-1. As for Atlantic Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

As for Atlantic Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Somerset Academy - Canyons on the 10th.
