DeMatha posted their closest victory since January 28th on Friday. They skirted past the Sidwell Friends Quakers 44-41. The 44-point effort marked the Stags' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

DeMatha had a senior duo take command as Ashton (Ace) Meeks posted 19 points and Jaden Shoultz shot 60% from the field on his way to 15 points. Shoultz is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Jaylen Ortiz also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win made it two in a row for DeMatha and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Sidwell Friends, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, DeMatha will welcome Clinton Grace Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Stags will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.07 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sidwell Friends, they will face off against Bishop O'Connell at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday.
