Football Preview: South Elgin Storm vs. West Chicago Wildcats

South Elgin is 8-0 against West Chicago since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Elgin Storm will take on the West Chicago Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

South Elgin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points last Friday, they were much more limited against West Aurora on Friday. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 119 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Robert Lee, who rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

He was just one part of a punishing run game: West Chicago was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 383 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgewood only rushed for 178.

West Chicago's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lee.

South Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Chicago, their record now sits at 3-1.

Everything came up roses for South Elgin against West Chicago when the teams last played back in August of 2023 as the squad secured a 57-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was West Chicago's Vincent Muci, who rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
