Volleyball Recap: Kingwood Wins Going Away Against West Fork

The Kingwood Mustangs got the win against the West Fork Gators on Monday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Addison Doherty paced Kingwood's offense, picking up 14 kills. Doherty got some help from Carly Thomas and her 25 assists. Thomas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why West Fork lost, don't look at Addison Lewis. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and three aces. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 29 games she's played.

Kingwood's victory bumped their record up to 15-25. As for West Fork, their loss ended a 14-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 38-6.

Kingwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Clear Creek on the 30th. As for West Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Lake Creek on the 30th.
