Soccer Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

After soaring to six goals the game before, Monticello was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverton/Tri-City Hawks. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Monticello couldn't quite close it out.

Monticello has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16-1 record this season. As for Riverton/Tri-City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11-2 record this season.

Monticello will head out on the road to square off against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverton/Tri-City, they will venture away from home to take on Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
