Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

Lafayette's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Sayre Spartans 3-0. The Generals not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lafayette was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-14, 25-13.

Lafayette's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paul Wilson, who had 11 digs. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last three games he's played. Dominic White also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Lafayette couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 42.6% of their attack attempts. That's the best hitting percentage they've posted all season.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sayre, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will take on Paul Laurence Dunbar at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sayre, they will challenge Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
