Basketball Recap: Midland Comes Up Short

Midland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-50 to the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans. The Timberwolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in December of 2021.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] had a senior duo take command as Sean Watt posted 21 points and Roy Sandberg scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sandberg has scored at least a third of Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s points.

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Midland will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Illinois Valley Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], they and Elmwood will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
