Recap: Godwin Eagles vs. Deep Run Wildcats
If the Godwin Eagles were feeling good off their 78-10 takedown of the Thomas Jefferson Vikings last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Godwin fell 55-43 to Deep Run on Friday. Godwin has not had much luck with Deep Run recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Godwin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reagan Nemeyer. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Bella Ross, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Godwin's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Deep Run, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Godwin will be playing at home against Louisa County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Louisa County is coming into the matchup with three straight losses on the road, meaning Godwin will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Deep Run, they will challenge Hermitage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
