Utica came into Saturday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Cousino Patriots 8-2 on Saturday. The Chieftains not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24th (when they won 13-4).

The team relied heavily on Logan Simunic, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Alex Gorgievski was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Utica's victory bumped their record up to 10-17. As for Cousino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Utica will square off against L'Anse Creuse North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chieftains are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cousino, they will welcome Lake Shore at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
