Baseball Recap: Choctawhatchee Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Choctawhatchee had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Arnold Marlins by a score of 7-4. The game was the first time the Indians have beaten the Marlins on their field since March 9, 2015.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Saffo, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gant Folendore, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Choctawhatchee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Choctawhatchee has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season. As for Arnold, they moved to 24-7 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Marlins beat Choctawhatchee by a score of 11-1 on Thursday.
