Softball Game Preview: Moorestown Quakers vs. Seneca Golden Eagles

Moorestown has gone a perfect 8-0 against Seneca recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Quakers will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Moorestown came up short against Cherry Hill East and fell 9-6. The Quakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lily Marta was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Seneca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to Cherokee. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Eagles have lost by exactly four runs.

Seneca also got a good showing from Chloe Carter, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Seneca saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Heller, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Moorestown's record now sits at 5-10-1. As for Seneca, their record is now 2-8.

Moorestown beat Seneca 10-7 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Quakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
