Flag Football Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 47-7 defeat at the hands of the Hamilton Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona flag football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Huskies are ranked sixth).

Sophia Partida threw for 169 yards and one TD. Zahra Baskerville was her top target, picking up 74 receiving yards.

Marlie Phillips was a one-woman wrecking crew For Hamilton. as she threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75.8% of her passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Phillips has posted since back in October of 2024. Markiah Riley was in the mix as well, providing Hamilton with two scores.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-7 win against West Point on the 25th. As for Hamilton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 48-7 victory against Canyon View on the 25th.
