Softball Recap: Pinecrest Takes a Loss

Pinecrest fell victim to Montgomery Central and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 10-0. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pinecrest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Gordon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Gordon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Pinecrest's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Montgomery Central, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Pinecrest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Scotland on the 10th. As for Montgomery Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight.
